What’s in My Gear Bag
Hello friend! Are you a photographer or aspiring photographer looking to start or grow your gear bag?! Or maybe a client curious thinking, “OKKK is this photographer legit or not?” 😉 Well, look no further! Not only will I show you what gear I am currently using, but what gear I started with. Everyone starts somewhere, right?
First off, this may be an unpopular opinion: you don’t need the latest and greatest gear bag in order to be an amazing professional.
There. I said it.
Being a creative is about learning to make art with what you have or can afford. Not many people who wake up one day and decide to start a photography business can up and buy a Canon R5. But depending on what kind of photography you are wanting to pursue, I actually recommend the minimal!
GEAR BAG ITEM #1: CAMERA BODIES
- Canon 5D Mark IV (the love of my life)
- Canon 6D Mark II (my first love, now my secondary camera)
- Canon Rebel Series (PERFFF for beginners!)
GEAR BAG ITEM #2: CAMERA LENSES
- Canon 35mm f/1.4 – Rarely leaves my camera body. If you were to only have one lens, this is IT.
- Canon 85mm f/1.4 – for a good creamy bokeh. I like to get portraits with this lens and ceremony close ups!
- Canon 50mm f/1.4 – Another good lens for creamy shots. I like to use this one for details shots and newborns!
- Canon 70-200 f/2.8 – the perfect lens for close ups without getting too close, ha!
